Softball Concludes Road Swing at Ole Miss

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss softball team concludes a five-game road swing with a doubleheader against Ole Miss in Oxford, Miss. The games, which were originally scheduled for Feb. 25, are set for a 3:00 p.m. start time at the Ole Miss Softball Complex.
The game will be aired on the SEC Network+ (at WatchESPN.com). In addition, live stats and in-game tweets (@SouthernMissSB) will be available throughout the twin bill.
The Rebels hold a 17-10 advantage in the all-time series, but the series is tied 6-6 in games played in Oxford. The two teams have played each other at least once a season since the series began back in 2000.
Last season, Sarah Evans powered the offense, going 3-for-4 (.750) with two doubles, two RBI, a run scored, a walk and sacrifice bunt. In her career against the Rebels, Evans is 6-for-9 (.667) with three doubles, three RBI, two runs scored, three walks and a sacrifice bunt.
The last time the two teams met in Oxford was Feb. 20, 2013. The Golden Eagles won the first game of a doubleheader, 7-4, but dropped a 3-0 decision in the nightcap.
Southern Miss enters the week after playing in Bowling Green, Ky. against Conference USA newcomer Western Kentucky. Ole Miss dropped three consecutive games to nationally-ranked Georgia in Oxford over the weekend.
Scouting the Opposition:
Ole Miss enters the week 7-9 at home this season. Earlier this season, the Rebels had a home tournament canceled due to weather. Of their nine home losses, six have come against ranked opponents.
