Softball Continues Conference Play at UTEP

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss softball team travels to El Paso, Texas for a three-game Conference USA series with UTEP. The series begins with a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon beginning at 3:00 p.m. CT (2:00 p.m. MT) and concludes on Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. CT (12:00 p.m. MT) at the Helen of Troy Softball Complex.

Last season, the Black and Gold won the series in El Paso, 2-1. UTEP claimed the first game 5-1, before Southern Miss evened the series with an 8-6 victory. In the finale, the Golden Eagles posted an 11-7 victory to claim the series.
Scouting the Opposition:
The Miners have started 5-0 at the Helen of Troy Softball Complex this season after sweeping a three-game series versus C-USA opponent Middle Tennessee and sweeping a pair of contests against Big12 program Texas Tech. Last season, UTEP began the home slate 7-0 before a March 8 game two loss to Southern Miss.
