Football Continues Spring Practice Tuesday Afternoon

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss football team got in its fifth practice of the spring, Tuesdy afternoon at the Joe P. Park Practice Facility.
The Golden Eagles worked under sunny skies during the two and a half hour practice.
"Practice was good today," said Monken. "We were a little slow to start, but it built up in the middle (of practice) and towards the end. As we add more, (the team) has to spend more time. (The quarterbacks) are too hard to tell. We'll know a lot more on Saturday because we just alternate them. Right now, it's hard to judge, but I think (Nick Mullens and Tyler Matthews) are doing well."
All positions are still up for grabs, as newcomers are working with the veterans to see what works best.
The Golden Eagles return to practice Thursday afternoon from 4:15-6:35 p.m. Practice is open to the general public. Fans are asked to show ID to gain admittance to practice.
The Golden Eagles open their 2015 season at home on Sept. 5, against in-state foe Mississippi State.
