Promotions Announced for Final Men's Basketball Homestand

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss has announced promotions for its two-game men's basketball homestand.
The Strikeout Hunger Canned Food Drive will go on during Thursday night's game against UTSA. Fans that donate two canned food items or more will receive a voucher to buy a hot dog and a drink for just $1. All canned food donations will benefit the Edwards Street Food Pantry. Donation bins will be available at all entrances of Reed Green Coliseum.
Thursday night will also be Greek Night Challenge. The Greek organization with the highest percentage of their chapter in attendance will win a tailgate package for the March 4th Southern Miss Baseball game against Ole Miss at The Pete.
The first 500 students will receive gold pom-poms. Also, Seymour's Sidekicks will receive free admission with their Sidekick's ID. It will also be College of Arts & Letters Night at the Greenhouse. At halftime, the men's and women's golf teams, as well as the Southern Miss Pep Band will be introduced. Finally, Sigma Chi and Phi Mu will be recognized during the game.
Saturday's game versus UTEP will begin with Senior Day, where guard Chip Armelin will be honored prior to the game. The game also marks the 25th anniversary of the 1989-90 team making the NCAA Tournament. The first 1,990 fans will receive a commemorative mini poster of the team, which will be honored at halftime.
Also, all senior citizens ages 65 or above will be able to purchase a $5 bleacher ticket. The first 300 students will receive a Southern Miss basketball rally towel, and Chi Omega and Pi Kappa Phi will be recognized during the game.
Both games will tip-off at 7 p.m. CT.
