HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss Athletics continually looks for opportunities to make a difference in the local community and has created an opportunity for Golden Eagle Nation to step forward and do so. Spurred on by the tremendous success of last year's challenge, the Department of Athletics has announced the 2nd Annual Charity Challenge.
The challenge last year was for Golden Eagle Nation to purchase 1,000 charity tickets to be used by numerous local charities and underprivileged youth groups. Golden Eagle Nation stepped up in a huge way and easily eclipsed this goal. This year, the goal has been set to purchase 1,500 charity tickets.
These tickets will be distributed to groups throughout the remaining three home games at The Rock. This is a way to show your Golden Eagle Pride while also allowing groups and organizations to attend a football game and witness firsthand the passion of Southern Miss who would not typically have the opportunity to attend a game. As part of the Charity Challenge, football coach Todd Monken has stepped up to purchase the first 100 tickets.
There are three ways for individuals or companies to take part in the Charity Challenge by purchasing tickets:
Online at www.SouthernMissTickets.com using the promo code CHARITY by clicking here
Call the Southern Miss Ticket Office at 601-266-5418
Or in-person at the Pat Ferlise Ticket Office (Monday - Friday; 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.)
Charity Tickets are $10 per ticket and tickets can be purchased in any number and are non-tax deductible.
