Report: Perfect fall weather greeted the Southern Miss football team as they went through a 2 ½ hour workout at the Joe P. Park Practice Facility on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles continue to get ready to meet the newest member of Conference USA, Charlotte, this weekend on the road. Southern Miss will go after its fifth victory of the season and second road win of the year. This will be the team's first trip to the state of North Carolina since playing at East Carolina in 2013.

On Charlotte committing turnovers this season...
"We don't even mention it besides saying it's been an issue for them, but they know it's been an issue this season. The last two games it has been an issue for us. We need to clean it up, they need to clean it up and whoever cleans it up best has the best chance to win."
On whether Charlotte shows anything on film that he thought they wouldn't...
"Not particularly, they started off the season with two wins. They really haven't lost anyone from their team. They started off with a recruiting class that didn't play, then a season and another season. So it's all the same guys. They have a lot of guys that have been in the program and know the system. The more they grow on the field and in age the better they will get. I think they only have eight or nine seniors possibly. They are only going to get better and they are a good football team. They went on the road after a bye week and had every opportunity to beat Old Dominion. We are going to have to play well. They are at home and we have to travel to an early game so we are going to have to bring it."
On the team having good Tuesday practices this season and was this another one...
"It was. We have to back it up with a better Wednesday, a sharp walkthrough on Thursday and a good Friday. That's a tribute to our coaches and players. They have gotten more mature and we have the right kind of guys."
