Softball Fan Day Set for January 31

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The University of Southern Mississippi softball team will host a free clinic on Saturday, Jan. 31 at the Southern Miss Softball Complex. The clinic is open to kids in eighth grade and younger. The event runs from 10:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with check-in beginning at 10:00 a.m.
The 2015 Golden Eagle softball team will participate in a scrimmage from 10:30 a.m. until noon. First-year head coach Wendy Hogue and members of the softball team will host a free skills clinic beginning after the scrimmage. Kids attending the clinic are asked to bring their own bats, gloves and helmets.
Following the clinic, the softball team will pose for pictures and sign autographs.
The 2015 softball season begins on Friday, Feb. 6 at the Sand Dollar Classic in Gulf Shores, Ala. The Golden Eagles will face off against Jackson State at noon before taking on Houston at 3:00 p.m. The first home game of the year for Southern Miss is slated for Friday, Feb. 20 against Mississippi Valley State.
