Men's Basketball Begins Practice for 2014-15 Season

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss men's basketball team had its first practice this afternoon in preparation for the 2014-15 season.
The Golden Eagles return just five letterwinners from last year's team finished with a school record-tying 29 wins. Southern Miss also added seven newcomers. Among those seven are three junior college transfers, three freshmen and one transfer.
"Right now, we're worried about two things. As I told the guys, bring me your effort and bring me a good attitude. Right now, we're just trying to teach, so no one gets in a rhythm. But towards the end (of practice), I was pleased in how the guys were playing."
Southern Miss begins the 2014-15 campaign with an exhibition game on Nov. 6 against Mississippi College. The season officially begins on Nov. 14 versus crosstown foe William Carey.
