HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss took their eighth practice of the spring season inside M.M. Roberts Stadium, Friday afternoon.
The Golden Eagles took very few snaps during a practice that started off well.
"We held off a little on the contact," said head coach Ellis Johnson. "(The practice) was pretty good as a team. We tried to speed it up a little bit. We got about 38 total snaps in a very short period of time. The first 10 or 15 looked real smooth. We had very few penalties or miscues."
However, Johnson wants to see some improvement
"Towards the end, we started dragging. We need to be more consistent. We have these little up and downs. I thought the execution in the passing game was better today. The coaches had to correct some missed assignments, but the effort was good again. I think we're in good shape. We'll find out a lot tomorrow.
The Golden Eagles return to the field tomorrow for their third spring scrimmage.
