Southern Miss Weekend Softball Tournament Cancelled

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Due to expected wet and rainy conditions in the Hattiesburg area throughout the weekend, the Dickey's Barbecue Pit Softball Tournament hosted by Southern Miss has been cancelled.

The tournament, which was to be the second of the season for Southern Miss (2-2), will not be made up as scheduled but there is a possibility of rescheduling doubleheaders with scheduled opponents later in the season.

Murray State, Belmont, Southern and in-state rival Ole Miss were all participants in the event.

Southern Miss will hit the diamond next on Feb. 22 when they travel to Hammond, La., for a midweek game against Southeastern Louisiana. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m.
