HATTIESBURG, Miss. - As the preseason Fall camp winds down for the Southern Miss Golden Eagles, younger players were given an opportunity to showcase what they could do on Monday morning at the Joe P. Park Practice Facility."Today, we got some extra work with some of the younger guys to find out who is going to help this football team," said coach Larry Fedora.
"We had a good day today and got a lot of good reps in."
With the Sept. 3 opener against Louisiana Tech looming less than two weeks away, the coaching staff is seeing some good battles for starting spots and backup positions taking place, particularly along the offensive line.
"(Behind Austin Quattrochi), we're working out Joe Duhon, Nathaniel Worrell and freshman Jordan Greene," said Fedora. "All of those guys are getting quality reps."
The Golden Eagles are expected to continue their day in meetings and will return for their final day of camp and final two-a-day on Tuesday.
Season Tickets, as well as single-game seats, are available for the 2011 home season by going online at SouthernMiss.com, or by calling 1-800-844-TICK (8425) or visiting the Pat Ferlise Center Monday through Friday from 8 a.m., until 5 p.m.
