Instead, he got two solid workouts from his squad which earned themselves a reward at the end of the second practice.
"We had a great day today," Fedora said. "We got about two hours in this morning and two hours this afternoon and I feel like we got a lot done. The guys didn't come out with a `poor, pitiful me' attitude. They came out with a workman's attitude and put in a hard day's work."
That hard work allowed the Golden Eagles' evening session to be cut short by 15 minutes for their execution on the practice field and that effort excited Fedora, who was looking to see who might have shown some tiredness through the team's first eight practices.
"I was looking for the lag, too," Fedora said. "I was looking to see who was going to be tired and maybe moving a little slower, but the guys responded well and we had a great second session this afternoon."
The Golden Eagles went in full pads during the morning session and then followed that with shoulder pads and shorts during the afternoon workout as this was the first of three two-a-day workouts for the team this fall. The others are slated to take place on Aug. 16 and 23.
