HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss football program will appear on television 10 times during the 2011 season in an announcement by Conference USA Tuesday.
The Golden Eagles will be featured nationally at least six times during the regular season with five games being shown on CBS Sports Network (CBSSN), formerly called CBS College Sports, and once on Fox Sports Net (FSN). The program also will be featured on Comcast/Charter Sports Southeast (CSS) four times with regional telecasts.
Southern Miss will appear on its lone FSN telecast in its season opener against Louisiana Tech, Sept. 3, at Carlisle-Faulkner Field at Roberts Stadium.
The CBSSN broadcasts will include home games against SMU and UCF, while road games at Navy, UTEP and UAB will be featured by the network. The UAB game will be the lone non-Saturday game of the season, which will be played on Thurs., Nov. 17.
As for CSS, they will show four Conference USA contests, including home games with Rice and Memphis and road contests with Marshall and East Carolina.
The only games not picked up for television at this point are the Golden Eagles' Sept. 17 matchup at home against Southeastern Louisiana and Sept. 24 road tilt at Virginia. The SLU contest will be played at 6 p.m., at "The Rock."
