HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss football team will take one of its 15 spring practices to Biloxi High School this Friday which will be open to the general public.
The practice begins at 5:15 p.m., and the team will go through their first big scrimmage of the spring beginning at 5:30 p.m. Admission is free to the event.
The Golden Eagles are working toward the 2011 season and improving on their 17-straight winning seasons and 10th straight bowl appearance. Southern Miss finished 8-5 in 2010 and finished second in Conference USA's East Division with a 6-2 mark.
This scrimmage will be the first opportunity for Golden Eagle players to show their skills in a game action setting.
"This is always an important day for our players," Fedora said. "It gives them another chance to show what they can do on the field in front of these coaches. We are excited to be able to take our coast practice to Biloxi this year and give our Golden Eagle fans on the coast a chance to come watch the team."
This will be the first of two travelling practices for the Golden Eagles this spring. They will travel to Pearl (Miss.) High School next Friday, April 1. The Golden Eagle spring game is set for April 9 at Carlisle-Faulkner Field at Roberts Stadium. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
