HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss football coach Larry Fedora said Wednesday after practice that the team's game plan has been installed for its home-opening game against Prairie View A&M Saturday. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m., at Carlisle-Faulkner Field at Roberts Stadium.
"The game plan is in now," said Fedora following the team's two-hour practice on the school's practice fields. "You get a couple of days to get the game plan in and we will weed some things out that maybe didn't look like we wanted it to look. Tomorrow is just polish (getting ready for Saturday)." After losing in its opener last week to South Carolina 41-13 on the road, the team has shown some more intensity heading into this week's game.
"There may be more of sense of urgency and understanding of what needs to be done, probably more from the younger guys," said Fedora.
The third-year coach also said that running back Tracy Lampley, wide receiver Quentin Pierce and tight end Johdrick Morris did not practice again on Wednesday.
"Those three guys still didn't go," said Fedora. "We haven't ruled them out yet, but obviously if they're not on the field tomorrow they will not go (on Saturday)."
Tickets are still available for this week's game online at SouthernMiss.com, via the telephone at 1-800-844-TICK (8425) or by visiting the Pat Ferlise Athletic Ticket Office from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
