Team Notes
*Today's captains were quarterback Austin Davis, linebacker Tim Green, linebacker Ronnie Thornton and offensive lineman Cameron Zipp.
*Today's attendance was 22,344.
*Southern Miss improves to 30-13 all-time against Louisiana Tech and 14-7 in games played in Ruston.
*The Golden Eagles are 37-18 all-time against current schools from the Western Athletic Conference. The win snapped a three-game losing streak to schools from the WAC.
*Head Coach Larry Fedora is now 8-6 all-time in non-conference games and picked up just his second non-conference road win.
*The 13 total points are the fewest points scored by Southern Miss in a victory under Larry Fedora.
*The three first half points are the fewest since scoring seven at SMU in 2008.
*The six combined first half points are the fewest in the Larry Fedora era.
Offensive Notes
*Senior center Cameron Zipp started his 30th consecutive game and 33rd overall.
*Freshman Dominique Sullivan saw the first action of his career.
*Junior quarterback Austin Davis threw for 233 yards and one touchdown on 22-of-38 passing. He also led the team in rushing with 69 yards on 18 carries.
*The Golden Eagles are 6-1 all-time when Davis rushes for at least 50 yards.
*Sophomore running back Desmond Johnson ran 22 times for 68 yards.
*Junior quarterback Austin Davis' connected with junior wide receiver Kelvin Bolden on a 23-yard touchdown reception. It is Bolden's first career touchdown catch.
*It is also Davis' second touchdown pass of the year and 35th of his career.
*Davis' 56-yard completion to Bolden in the fourth quarter was the longest completion of the year.
*Davis has thrown a touchdown pass in 19-of-22 starts.
*Junior wide receiver Johdrick Morris caught a career-high five passes for 64 yards to lead the team.
*Freshman wide receiver Markese Triplett caught his first career reception in the third quarter.
*Sixteen different receivers have now caught a pass this year.
*The 18-play, 8:10 drive in the third quarter that resulted in Danny Hrapmann's 37-yard field goal is the longest drive of the year.
Defensive Notes
*Southern Miss is 11-0 under Larry Fedora when allowing less than 20 points.
*The Golden Eagles held Louisiana Tech to 47 rushing yards. It is the fewest rushing yards allowed since Marshall ran for 26 yards last year.
*Southern Miss is now 12-0 when holding teams under 100 yards rushing.
*Senior Korey Williams recorded his first career interception in the first quarter.
*Senior defensive back Justin Wilson intercepted his second pass of the season and tenth of his career.
*Junior linebacker Ronnie Thornton recovered his first fumble of the year and second of his career.
*Freshman Deron Wilson recorded his first career interception in the fourth quarter.
*Under Fedora, Southern Miss has now forced at least one turnover in 27 of 30 games and has had two or more in 20 contests.
*Junior defensive lineman Cordarro Law's sack in the third quarter gives him 1 ½ on the year and 14 for his career.
Special Teams Notes
*Danny Hrapmann connected on field goals of 45 and 37 yards. He has now connected on nine straight field goals dating back to last year's New Orleans Bowl.
*Louisiana Tech's blocked punt was the first blocked punt allowed by Southern Miss since Marshall in 2007.
