HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss football team continued its short week of practice here Tuesday afternoon in preparation for its Friday night clash with Big XII opponent, Kansas, with a two-hour workout at the Joe P. Park Practice Facility.
Third-year Southern Miss coach Larry Fedora said practice has gone well this week, despite the condensed practice time for this game.
"We gave them the day off on Sunday and we practiced Monday and today," said Fedora. "(We) will polish it up tomorrow and get a lot of our special teams done."
Fedora also added that RB Tracy Lampley, TE Johdrick Morris, WR Quentin Pierce, along with WR Kelvin Bolden, who also missed the Prairie View A&M game, returned to practice yesterday and are all expected to play on Friday.
"We will look at the film and figure out what they can do," said Fedora. "They all practiced today and they actually looked pretty good."
The Golden Eagles look to even the overall series with the Jayhawks this week, after dropping the two school's initial meeting 35-28 in Lawrence last season. The Golden Eagles will also vies to extend its nine-game home winning streak.
Tickets still remain for this week's game online at SouthernMiss.com, via the telephone at 1-800-844-TICK (8425) or by visiting the Pat Ferlise Athletic Ticket Office from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday.
Please note the ticket office will be open from 8 a.m., until 3:30 p.m. on Friday and will then move to Carlisle-Faulkner Field at Roberts Stadium at 4 p.m. Both the northwest and southwest ticket booths will be open for those individuals wanting to purchase seats.
