Jeremy Wise Selected to Play in NBA Summer League

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Former Southern Miss men's basketball player Jeremy Wise has been invited to play with the Golden State Warriors in the 2010 NBA Summer League, which takes place July 9-18 in Las Vegas, Nev.
Wise, who spent three years at Southern Miss from 2006-09, spent last year with the Bakersfield Jam of the NBA Development League, where he averaged 16.6 points, 5.1 assists and 1.3 steals in 45 games, starting 38. While with Bakersfield, he was third on his team in points, and second in assists and steals.
Wise was a three-time All-Conference USA player while at Southern Miss. He started all 96 games, scoring 1,691 points, good for fifth all-time at Southern Miss and 11th all-time in Conference USA. The Jackson, Miss. native also cemented his name in the record book in most offensive categories; ranking fourth in scoring average (17.6), first in free throw percentage (82.3), second in free throws (511), fifth in assists (381) and sixth in three-point field goals (120).
In 2006-07, he was named the C-USA Freshman and Newcomer of the Year while setting a freshman school scoring record with 541 points.
The 10 day event will feature 22 NBA teams as well as a team from the NBA's Development League. Games will be held at both the COX Pavilion and Thomas & Mack Center located on the campus of UNLV.
