HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss football team worked out for approximately two hours inside M.M. Roberts Stadium at Carlisle-Faulkner Field Monday afternoon, their third practice this spring.
The team worked out in full pads for the first time in 2010 and head coach Larry Fedora liked what he saw.
"The guys were flying around and were enthusiastic today," Fedora said. "We had to knock some of rust off, but there were some good hits out there today."
Fedora also said that the overall health of the team is good as of now and they are just trying to get the guys who were injured going into spring practice back to 100%.
The Golden Eagles are scheduled to practice two more times this week on Wednesday and Friday before taking spring break off next week.
The team still has 12 more practices slated this spring and its spring game on April 10.
