• Southern Miss opens its 15th season as a member of Conference USA when they meet Marshall this weekend.
• The program is 12-2 in C-USA openers and had a nine-game win streak snapped in 2008 when they dropped a 34-27 contest at home to Marshall.
• This is the eighth time Southern Miss has opened league play at home and are 6-1 in those contests.
• This will be the second time Southern Miss has opened league play with Marshall. The other was the 2008 contest.
• Southern Miss is 72-29 overall and 37-13 at home in Conference USA games.
Against Marshall
• This will be the sixth meeting between the two schools with the Golden Eagles holding a 4-1 advantage in the series.
• The Herd won the last meeting at The Rock 34-27.
• Three of the five meetings have been decided by seven or fewer points.
Home Winning Streak in Double Digits
• Southern Miss has won its last 10 home games, dating back to a 70-14 decision over UAB on Nov. 1, 2008.
• It is the longest home winning streak for the Golden Eagles since winning 11-straight from the 1998-2000 seasons.

• Since the re-construction of the stadium during the 1974 and 1975 seasons, the Golden Eagles have compiled a 122-42 (.754) record since the start of the 1976 campaign.
• This is the 35th season of the current Carlisle-Faulkner Field at Roberts Stadium - known simply to Golden Eagle fans as “The Rock.”
• In the 34 previous seasons, the Golden Eagles have had 10 undefeated home seasons, and for the fi rst time last season, registered a 6-0 home record.
• Over the current 10-game home winning streak, the team is averaging 39.4 points a contest at home over that stretch.
