HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss Track and Field Head Coach Kevin Stephen announced the hiring of former track and field standout Keri White Frazier as head cross country coach and assistant track and field coach for the Golden Eagle track program. This hiring is subject to approval by the Mississippi Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning.
Prior to coming to Southern Miss, Frazier worked in a non-athletic related profession for three years. Frazier was part of the Golden Eagle teams from 2001-05, competing in cross country, indoor and outdoor.
The Vicksburg, Miss., native is no stranger to the Golden Eagle program. Frazier was a four-year letterwinner in cross country, indoor and outdoor track squads. She owed a personal best time of 18:37.04 in the indoor 5,000-meters and 17:54.04 in the outdoor 5,000 meters. The times rank third on the all-time performance list. She also ran a personal-best time of 39:04.69 in the 10,000 meters.
Frazier was a standout track and field performer at Vicksburg High School, capturing the 5A state championship in cross country in 1999 and the championship in the two-mile, setting a state record in the process.
Frazier earned a degree in business administration from Southern Miss in 2005. She and her husband Ronnie have a two-year old daughter, Addison Rae.
