HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss football team returned to the practice field for the 10th time this spring, Monday, with a 2 hour, 30 minute workout in shoulder pads and shorts at the Joe P. Park Practice Facility.
The Golden Eagles went through their final preparations before its second big scrimmage of the spring Wednesday. Southern Miss takes that scrimmage to Ocean Springs, Miss., and Ocean Springs High School for a 5:30 p.m., scrimmage. It is the second time this spring the Eagles have moved a practice off campus. The team also held a practice at Madison Central High School earlier this month.
"That is 10 (practices) under our belts and we are getting a little bit banged up," said Fedora. "So we will see who is healthy and ready to go Wednesday. We are looking to get a lot of work in for the scrimmage and want to get everyone as many reps as they would in a regular game as possible."
Golden Eagle fans are invited to attend this event.
Season tickets for the 2009 campaign are available by calling 1-800-844-TICK (8425) as well as online at SouthernMiss.com, or by visiting the Pat Ferlise Athletic Ticket Office from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The Southern Miss Athletics Department is giving a highlight DVD of the 2008 season to fans that join or renew their Eagle Club donation, as well as making their season ticket and spring game ticket purchases prior to or on Apr. 18, the date of this year's annual Black and Gold Spring Game. The priority deadline is May 1.
