Softball Plays Host to Mizuno Classic This Weekend

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss welcomes four teams for its Mizuno Classic this weekend when Alabama State, Louisiana Tech, Nicholls State and South Alabama comes to town to play in the round-robin event.
The schedule of games is as follows with all 10 contests being played at the USM Softball Complex:

The Golden Eagles enter the tournament with a 5-7 mark after splitting a pair of games with Jackson State, Wednesday. Southern Miss lost the opener 8-0 and won the nightcap 8-0.
Junior Megan Hill continues to lead the Golden Eagles in hitting with a .419 batting average with a team-best five doubles, three home runs and 12 RBI. Sophomore Courtney Hill ranks second on the team in hitting at .382, while senior Kristin Pilgrim adds a .378 average on the strength of a team-high 14 hits including two homers and 10 RBI.
Freshman Courtney Ramos continues to lead the Golden Eagle pitching staff with a 5-2 record to go along with a 2.39 earned run average. She threw her first collegiate no-hitter against JSU this week.
