HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss continued its work to get ready for Conference USA rival Tulane this weekend with a Wednesday afternoon practice here at the Joe P. Park Practice Facility.
As the Golden Eagles ready for their 73rd homecoming this weekend, Southern Miss coach Larry Fedora liked the energy of his team's 2 hour, 15 minute practice.
"Today was a really good practice," Fedora said. "It was a great effort overall by everyone."
Southern Miss (4-3, 2-1 C-USA) has to get ready for a solid, technically savvy Tulane team that the Golden Eagles have not met on the gridiron since the 2006 season.
"They do not do a whole lot of things scheme-wise but the ones they do run, they run very well," Fedora said. "They are a sound football team that plays hard and are in the right place at the right time. I do not think that their record does them justice to be honest with you."
Tickets still remain for the 6 p.m., game Saturday and can be purchased by calling 1-800-844-TICK (8425), or going online at SouthernMiss.com as well as visiting the Pat Ferlise Ticket Office, Monday-through-Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
The Southern Miss Ticket Office, along with the Eagle Club Office, will be open from 10 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., Saturday, at the Pat Ferlise Center and then move to the stadium ticket office on the northwest and southwest sides beginning at 3 p.m.
The contest will also be televised by CSS (Channel 25 on Comcast Cablevision in Hattiesburg) as well as Cox Sports Television in Louisiana. The game can also be heard on the Southern Miss ISP Sports Network.
