Softball's Megan Hill Tabbed Preseason All-Conference USA

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss softball outfielder Megan Hill was named to the preseason All-Conference USA team, announced by league officials this week.
An All-Conference USA second team selection last season, Hill batted a team-high .333 during her sophomore campaign. She connected for 52 hits, including a team-high six home runs and three triples. Hill recorded 27 runs, 29 RBIs and registered 37 walks. She also was 5-of-9 in stolen bases.
Hill enters the season with nine-game hitting streak dating back to April 20, 2008. She also had 10 multiple hit games, including hitting for the cycle against Louisiana Tech, Feb. 24, and 12 games with multiple RBIs.
Southern Miss opens the 2009 campaign on Feb. 6, hosting its own Southern Miss Invitational. The Golden Eagles play Arkansas in the opening game at 6 p.m. Other teams included are Central Arkansas, Samford and Western Kentucky.
