Cross Country To Host Golden Eagle Cross Country Invitational

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- - The Southern Miss cross country team will host the first of two cross country meets Friday, Sept. 5 at Tatum Park.
The meet location was changed in 2005 following Hurricane Katrina.
At least 12 or more high school teams are expected for this event. The girls' two-mile run begins at 3:00 p.m., followed by the boys' 5K approximately 3:45 p.m.
Seven or more colleges and universities are competed in the event. Schools that have sent in entries include men's and women's teams from Jackson State, Ole Miss, Mobile, Millsaps and Southern Miss women.
The women's race will cover a 5K course, beginning approximately 4:30 p.m., while the men's race will cover four miles and begin at 5 p.m. An open 5K race will begin approximately 5:30 p.m.
Results of the meet will be available at the www.SouthernMiss.com by approximately 8 p.m.
