Football Continue Preparations for Louisiana-Lafayette

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss football team held their 23rd practice this season this afternoon at the Joe P. Park practice facility in preparations for Louisiana-Lafayette, who will visit "The Rock" next Saturday with kick off set for 6:00 p.m.
"Today was a good practice, the guys moved around a lot better than they did yesterday," head coach Larry Fedora said. "I hope everyone is excited as we are right now. We are working very hard to put a quality product on the field to excite our students and fans."
The team worked out for 22 periods in just over two hours wearing helmets and shoulder pads in preparation for the season opener one week from tomorrow.
The team will hold a mock game and the final scrimmage of 2008 tomorrow. During the course of the mock game the team will also work on every detail for a game day. All practices and scrimmages are closed to the public.
