HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss football team worked out for two hours in helmets and shoulder pads at the Joe P. Park practice facility to complete the 2008 fall camp.
The Golden Eagles held 21 practices over the last 19 days to prepare for the 2008 season.
The Golden Eagles focused mainly on all aspects of the kicking game in today's practice working on everything from getting the right personal on the field to actually executing the play.
"We got in a lot of good work on our kicking game today," head coach Larry Fedora said. "It is the end of camp and all the guys are beat down not only physically but mentally, but we have made a lot of progress this past few weeks."
Southern Miss will take tomorrow off to allow the players to focus on the first day of classes and return to the practice field on Thursday afternoon.
The team will hold a mock game and the final scrimmage of 2008 on Saturday. All practices and scrimmages are closed to the public.
Fans can still purchase their season tickets by going by the Pat Ferlise Athletic Ticket Office from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., Monday through Friday or by calling 1-800-844-TICK.
