* Captains for Southern Miss were quarterback Austin Davis, defensive lineman Eric Phillips, offensive lineman Ryan Hebert and punter/holder Brett Hicks.
* Today's attendance was 30,658.
* With today's attendance, Southern Miss set a new record for season attendance (180,475) and average attendance (30,079/game).
* Southern Miss is now 26-8 against East Carolina, and 11-6 against the Pirates in Hattiesburg. Southern Miss has won six of the last seven games and 11 of the last 13.
* Southern Miss is now 66-26 all-time in Conference USA play, including a 34-12 record at Carlisle-Faulkner Field at Roberts Stadium.
* Senior offensive lineman Ryan McKee started his 38th consecutive game to lead the offensive line.
* East Carolina's three first half points are tied for the lowest amount of points Southern Miss has given up in the first half this year. They also allowed just three points in the first half at Arkansas State.
* Redshirt freshman quarterback Austin Davis was 18-of-30 for 239 yards and two touchdowns.
* Davis' 18 completions give him 226 completions on the year, breaking the previous single-season record of 216 held by Dustin Almond in 2005.
* Davis 30 attempts give 394 on the season, tying Dustin Almond's mark set in 2005.
* Davis' 239 yards give him 2,640 on the year, surpassing Jeff Kelly for third place on the single-season passing yardage list.
* Austin Davis completed a 20-yard touchdown pass to junior tight end Leroy Banks. It was Davis' 18th touchdown pass and Banks' first career touchdown reception.
* Davis and freshman DeAndre Brown connected on a 97-yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter. It is the longest touchdown pass from scrimmage in Southern Miss history, passing the 85-yard touchdown pass from Stephen Reaves to Torris Magee at Marshall in 2007.
* It was Davis' 19th touchdown pass of the year and Brown's 12th touchdown reception of the year, moving him into second place on the single season list behind Sherrod Gideon (13, 1998).
* It was also the fourth one-play touchdown drive of the year.
*Brown caught eight passes for 124 yards a touchdown. It is Brown's fourth 100-yard receiving game.
* Davis recorded his first career punt, a 32-yard punt in the first quarter.
* Junior running back Damion Fletcher returned to action after missing last week's game with an injured hamstring. Fletcher rushed for 121 yards and a touchdown. It was his eighth touchdown of the year and 34th of his career.
* Junior linebacker Gerald McRath recorded four unassisted tackles, giving him 199 on his career and moving him into fifth place on the Southern Miss all-time list.
* Redshirt sophomore Justin Wilson intercepted his fourth pass of the season and sixth of his career.
