Player of the Week - Damion Fletcher

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - This week's Golden Eagle Player of the Week is junior running back and Biloxi,Miss. native Damion Fletcher.
Fletcher, who rushed for 260 yards against the UTEP Miners, set numerous personal and school records on Saturday on Carlisle-Faulkner field at M.M. Roberts Stadium.
Fletcher's 260 yards are the most ever for a junior running back at Southern Miss, and it was also the second time this season he has set a new personal record for most yards in a single game. He now holds the second,third and fourth best rushing performance by a Southern Miss running back in a single game.
Fletcher is now the career rushing leader at Southern Miss with 3,654 yards. Ben Garry previously held the record with 3,595. He also holds the record for the most 100-yard rushing games in a career with 18.
Capping off his record setting performance, Fletcher's 56-yard run in the first quarter of Saturday's game was also the longest of his career.
The Golden Eagles return to the football gridiron on Saturday to face #15 Boise State at 'The Rock' at 7 p.m.
