Softball's Megan Hill Tabbed Preseason All-Conference USA

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss softball outfielder/designated player Megan Hill was named to the preseason All-Conference USA team, announced by league officials on Wednesday.
An All-Conference USA second team selection and Newcomer of the Year in 2007, Hill batted a team-high .331 during her freshman campaign. She connected for 53 hits, including a team-high 13 home runs and five triples. Hill recorded 38 runs, 41 RBIs and registered 30 walks. She also was 6-of-8 in stolen bases.
Hill, also named to the C-USA All-Freshman team, owned a six-game hitting streak from March 11 to March 17. She had 10 multiple hit games, including hitting for the cycle against Louisiana Tech, Feb. 24, and 12 games with multiple RBIs.
Southern Miss opens the 2008 campaign on Feb. 8, at the Florida State's Early Bird Tournament, playing Troy in the opening game. The Lady Eagles will open their home slate on Feb. 20 against in-state rival Jackson State.
