Cross Country Team Hosts 27th Annual Meet

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- - Southern Miss women's cross country team will host the 27th Annual Southern Miss Cross Country Invitational on Friday, Sept. 7 at Tatum Park.
Thirty-three high school teams will compete in the event. The girls' two-mile run begins at 3:30 p.m., followed by the boys' 5K race approximately 4 p.m.
Thirteen colleges and universities will compete in the event as well. Schools competing are Alcorn State, Delta State, Jackson State, Loyola, Mississippi College, Mississippi Valley State men, Spring Hill, Tougaloo College, Tulane women, University of Mobile, West Alabama, Xavier and Southern Miss women.
The women's race will cover a 5K course, beginning approximately 4:30 p.m., while the men's race will cover four miles and begin at 5 p.m.
Tulane women's cross country team won the women's championship, while Southeastern Louisiana was the men's winner.
