Football Continues East Carolina Preparations

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss football team continued preparations for its Conference USA opener against East Carolina, with a two-hour workout in full pads, today, at the Joe P. Park Practice Facility.
"It was hot, but they pushed through it," Head Coach Jeff Bower said of today's practice. "It was a good day."
Freshman running back V.J. Floyd (Orlando, Fla.) sported a green jersey during the workout, limiting his participation.
"He's got a mild concussion from the game the other night," Bower noted of Floyd's condition. "It's just precautionary."
Saturday's kickoff is set for 5 p.m. CT, at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium in Greenville, N.C.
