HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss football team held its fourth day of practice of preseason camp in preparation for the 2007 season, Tuesday morning, at the Joe P. Park Practice Facility.
"We didn't practice with a very good tempo today," Head Coach Jeff Bower said. "I thought it was a little sloppy, especially on offense. The ball was on the ground, but we'll pick it up tomorrow in full gear."
After working out in shorts and shirts the first two days, the Golden Eagles donned shoulder pads and shorts the last two workouts, before dressing in full pads on Wednesday. Practice time is slated for 8:30 p.m.
Bower also announced that junior defensive back Ivory Bradshaw (Bastrop, La.) was injured during practice.
"We don't know (the extent of the injury at this point)," Bower said about the injury. "It's his knee, and he's going to have an MRI."
Southern Miss opens the season on September 1, hosting Tennessee-Martin in a 6 p.m. contest at M.M. Roberts Stadium. . For tickets, call the Southern Miss Athletic Ticket Office at 1-800-844-TICK (8425) or via the internet at www.SouthernMiss.com.
