Jeremy Parquet, signing in. We had a big game last weekend, y'all. We went to Cologne and beat them, 21-7. I have to say that I really enjoyed that as it was a really good feeling. Right now we're number two in the league and if the season would end today we would be in the World Bowl. But we have another huge game this weekend against Frankfurt. They're coming here in our home town and we've got to play well against them and if that works out for us we'll be in the World Bowl.
This season has been kind of shaky. It's amazing week-to-week how one minute we're not going to the World Bowl to now we're going. This season has been very suspenseful and I have to say that I have thoroughly enjoyed it. As a matter of fact, I've enjoyed the whole Europe experience. This whole year has been an eye-opening experience with experiencing a new culture and people and coaches. It's different as I'm learning. I'm a big believer in learning something new every day and the responses that you get from the German people like thank you - which is danke - and bitte - which is please - and the whole team says that all day - bitte schonen and danke schonen. It's really a good experience and I'm enjoying myself over here in Hamburg, Germany.
Back to this football thing though. We play Saturday against Frankfurt and it's going to be live (noon EST on NFL Network and DirectTV) and there's supposed to be a nice sized crowd there too. So this is a must-see game, and you better watch number 73, right tackle.
I'm going to go out there and perform to the best of my ability and make it happen trying to bring this World Bowl Championship back to Norco, Louisiana and bring it back to Mrs. Lois Parquet and Mr. Felton Parquet - the people that raised me. Other than that, I'm just over here enjoying life trying to live in the world and trying to get on film and make sure that whenever the eyes in the sky are on me when I'm performing I'm going hard and playing to the best of my abilities and trying to make it happen.
I'm also thinking about my little boy, who will be seven months old tomorrow. He's huge and he enjoys eating the same way I did, as my momma said he's going to eat me out of house and home and all that. If he enjoys half as much as I do, then I have to have five jobs!
I'm ready to get it on this week against Frankfurt and then next week we go to play the Rhein Fire and the following week is the World Bowl. So y'all stay tuned as I'm number 73, the right tackle for the Hamburg Sea Devils trying to make it. After the World Bowl I'll be back in the States from the 24th until the St. Louis Rams start training camp starts on July 27th.
