Blog entry number eight. This is Jeremy Parquet, signing in. We're just getting through with a three game span in like 15 days or so, and my body was still hurting though I'm recovered now. We played at Amsterdam last Friday and it was a long, hard fought game but we lost, they won (41-31), so our World Bowl chances are kind of in limbo. But we still have four games left, so we should still have a pretty good shot at it. We went out there and played hard, but we were at their place and there were a few calls that went their way and didn't go ours, but that's how the ball bounces sometimes and that's life.
The crazy part about it is Friday morning before the game my wife called and told me that my little boy was going to the emergency room. He was sick and he had the croup's but not bronchitis, which he's had before, and he went to one hospital and they told them that he had a bad cold and sent him back home. But the following night he went to the emergency room and they said he had the croup's, and what that is is when the esophagus is swollen and he had a cold in his chest and his stomach but he couldn't get it out. Since he's a baby, it was hard for him just to breathe, so it was taking him 30 seconds to breathe because he was trying to figure it out with his esophagus swollen and it was cutting off his breathing.
That had me scared, but I prayed about it to ask God to give me the strength to still be able to go out and perform and do what I do and He did and helped me out a lot. I went out there and played well, thogh I almost left Amsterdam and went back home, but through God's grace and glory it worked out for me. My little boy is fine now, but it was a scary issue to have it hit almost before the game.
But I'm not worried now and we have about four more weeks left over here and my European experience will be over and I'll get a chance to get back home. I'm excited to get back home, as I haven't eaten any good food in a real long time, so I'm excited about that too.
We play Berlin this Saturday at 6 o'clock in the evening and it comes on live at 12 p.m. eastern (11 central) on DirectTV and then again it's replayed on Sunday, May 27 at 1 a.m. eastern (12 a.m. central) on the NFL Network, so if you get a chance check me out.
This is Jeremy Parquet signing off. God Bless.
