How do you feel about the season so far?
"It hasn't gone as expected, but we basically have a new team. We're still trying to learn about each other and start to play better together. The season is not over yet, and I'm ready to see how conference play is going to turn out."
What do you think the team needs to do to improve for the end of the season?
"We just need put it all together. We have spurts were we'll have good offense and not enough pitching and defense, and then we'll have good pitching and not enough offense."
How is the team feeling about facing Memphis this weekend?
"We're feeling pretty confident and getting pumped up about it. We have to go out and make it happen."
With the way the season is going, do you feel like you have to step up with more leadership?
"Yeah, I have to keep the team motivated and let them know it's not over yet."
How did it feel to hit your first homerun?
"It felt fantastic. I didn't even know until I heard someone in the dugout say 'that's gone.' I turned and looked and it was going over."
Who do you think has stepped up that you didn't expect to do so?
"Emily Howard. She has really stepped up and helped Sam (Samantha Davis) and Shea (Naramore). When they go out, she comes in and does a good job."
Who has stepped up that you knew would do so?
"Megan Hill. She came in knowing that she would be our DH this year and has worked hard to help us out offensively."
The Schedule this season has the team traveling more than staying at home. What do you like and dislike about being on the road?
"I love being able to see new places and going to play in some of the best college stadiums. Some places provide a great atmosphere to play in. I dislike the long bus rides."
Who keeps the mood light on the team?
"Megan Hill, Jennifer Fox, me at times, Karissa Jones and Logan James. There are a couple of us that try to keep the mood light and prevent everyone from being so tense."
If you could punk anyone of your teammates or coaches, who would it be and what would you do?
"It would have to be Coach (Auriel) Jenkins. I would love to see how she would react to something like that. I would have to do a prank that would have something to do with the field because that is her pride and joy. It's a year long process to get our field looking like this, so it would have to be something regarding the field being messed up. That would just drive her crazy."
