Softball to Compete in Purple & Gold Challenge

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss softball team travels to Baton Rouge, La., to compete in LSU's Easton Purple & Gold Challenge, beginning Friday, February 23, at Tiger Park.
The Lady Eagles begin play Friday at 1:15 p.m., taking on Troy, immediately followed by a 3:30 p.m. competition against nationally-ranked LSU.
Troy, led by 14-year Head Coach Melanie Davis, enters the tournament with a 6-0 record, while LSU, led by six-year Head Coach Yvette Girouard, enters the tournament with an 11-1 record.
Southern Miss (3-4) enters the tournament, following a 9-1 victory over in-state rival Jackson State.
