Lady Eagles Host Jackson State on Tuesday

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss softball team is scheduled to face Jackson State on Tuesday, February 20, at the Southern Miss Softball Complex in a single game, instead of the originally-advertised doubleheader, beginning at 5 p.m.
This will be the seventh meeting between the two teams since first competing in 2003, with the Lady Eagles having a 6-0 overall advantage over the Tigers. The last meeting was on April 25, 2006, in which Southern Miss earned a 17-8 victory.
Defensively, Southern Miss is led by junior pitcher Shea Naramore, who is entering the match-up after throwing her first career shutout against South Alabama on Feb. 14. Naramore has recorded an 8.02 ERA with 13 strikeouts for a 2-4 overall record.
Offensively, the Lady Eagles are led by freshman designated player Megan Hill, freshman outfielder Brandi Alonzo and junior outfielder Allison Bullard. Hill is currently hitting .385, including one double, one triple, a home run and four RBIs.
Alonzo has a .333 batting average, with one double, one home run and two RBIs, while Bullard is hitting .286, with one double, and one RBI.
Southern Miss currently is a 2-4 overall, while Jackson State has a 3-5 record.
