HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Golden Eagle football team continued its preparations for Saturday's home opener today, with a two-hour practice in the Joe P. Park Practice Facility.
Head Coach Jeff Bower said the team is getting healthier, after about 18 players suffered from strep throat.
"We're getting a little better," Bower said. "We had more guys working today and less out. I don't think we had anyone new out today. I think we're over the hill. They're feeling better and most of them went through practice."
Bower said preparations for Saturday's game against Southeastern La., continue to go well.
"Practice went well," Bower said. "I thought we had a good day today."
Following practice, Bower announced that redshirt junior running back Cody Hull has left the team.
Kickoff for Saturday's game is set for 6 p.m.
