HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss Alumni Association, in conjunction with the Eagle Club and The University of Southern Mississippi Foundation, will host an Eagle Landing tailgating event prior to the Conference USA Championship Game between the Golden Eagle football team and the Houston Cougars on Friday.
The event will be located at the Tailgate Village on the west side of Robertson Stadium along Scott Street next to the red pavilions on the University of Houston campus. The Eagle Landing will begin at 4:30 p.m., 2 ½ hours prior to the 7 p.m. kickoff between the Eastern Division-champion Golden Eagles and the Cougars, who won the Western Division. The game marks a rematch of a contest between the teams in Hattiesburg on Oct. 14, when the Golden Eagles handed Houston (9-3 overall, 7-1 in C-USA) its only conference loss of the season, 31-27. Southern Miss (8-4, 6-2) won its final four games of the regular season to advance to the title game, including a 42-7 victory over Marshall in its last outing.
Tickets to the Eagle Landing are $10 per person, and will be available only at the door. Menu includes barbecue brisket, sausage, baked beans, cole slaw and potato salad. Football game tickets are available at SouthernMiss.com or by calling 1.800.844.8425.
