During the 2006 Southern Miss Golden Eagle Football Season, senior offensive lineman George Batiste will sit down with Southern Miss Athletic Media Relations Graduate Assistant Mallory Haynes and Media Relations Intern Katlin Odems to discuss the ins and outs of Golden Eagle Football.
On the team's current injuries and how they will affect the team:
"In football, you never know what's going to occur. It's a reaction game and you can't do anything but react to what happens out there. We have people in place and hopefully they will step up and make things happen. That's all we can do is react to it."
George thoughts on Houston:
"Houston is a very good football team. The coaches have given us schemes and we just take what they give us and try to perfect it to the best of our ability. We try to prepare well and play well. We've got a big challenge for us at Homecoming and hopefully we'll do our best."
Thoughts on the extended practices before the Houston:
"It really doesn't matter about that extra time. If anything, we need to get our legs back under us. Coach Bower has been around this game for a long time so no matter how many days are between each game, we'll always be properly prepared and ready to go."
On what the team needs to improve:
"We've got to go out there and play with emotion. All eleven of us have got to come together and play together. We need to play every play like it's our last snap. We have to play as one by making plays and getting it done. We have to have fun playing Southern Miss football."
Thoughts on the teams' advantages going into the Houston game:
"In football, it's not about advantages. It's about going out there and playing football. Time will tell. We'll see on Saturday."
Thoughts on his last Homecoming here at Southern Miss:
"I try to play every game with as much emotion as I can. You always want to show your fans what you can do at home games. It's the last one, the last go-round. Let's make it happen."
