Kevis: This season has been frustrating with all of the postponements. We haven?t been able to get into a rhythm yet, playing only two games and the other two getting postponed. Coach Bower believes in routines, and we as a team base everything on routines, so it is important that we get into a routine. Hopefully, we won?t have any more postponements or cancellations this season.
Trevis: It has been frustrating because we?re trying to get back into our regular routine. But hopefully we can come out this week and get into that routine again and play the best that we can.
Kevis: The team as a whole has been somewhat frustrated with all of the postponements. We?ve had more time to prepare because of them, and we?re now more mentally ready for the game.
Trevis: Both of the hurricanes set us back with a lot of dead time, but we?re ready to play football. We get ourselves ready to play every week, so it?s been very disappointing when a hurricane comes through and you find out you?re not playing. But as a team, we try to fight through all of the adversity that we?ve faced this season.
Kevis: Some people are calling this Southern Miss season the ?hurricane season?, but hurricanes come around this area every year. Katrina set us back a couple of weeks, but we have to be mentally tough and continue to fight this season no matter what we face.
Trevis: I would agree that this is the ?hurricane season? for Southern Miss.
Kevis: When we have free time during the week, coaches advise us to study film for the upcoming opponent. But other than that, we sit around and talk about the games and things like that during our free time. Mainly, we just try to stay fresh for the next game.
Trevis: Since we?ve had so much free time already this season, I try to stay off my feet to rest my legs so they can be as fresh as possible when I go to practice. I study film to find out as much as I possibly can about our upcoming opponent.
Kevis: Another thing that has been frustrating this season is preparing all week for a team, and then at the last minute not playing them. We put in a lot of time, preparing for
Trevis: We were looking forward to playing
Kevis: This is the first Conference
Trevis: We are working toward our ultimate goal of getting to the Liberty Bowl. We want this game and need to win this game. It?s my senior year, and we?re trying to get there for all of the seniors.
Kevis: ECU is different then they were last year, but they have shown that they are better based on their performance against
Trevis: ECU is a better team this season. They seem to be a more balanced team this year on offense, both at running and passing. They gave
Kevis: ECU has an advantage going into this game because they?ve been able to get into a routine. They have more game experience than we do. But we?re not making any excuses, and we?re going to come out give it everything we?ve got.
Trevis: Going into this game, I wouldn?t say that anyone has an advantage, but they have played more games than us. But we are going to work hard and prepare, whether we only have three days to practice, or if we have a whole month, because that?s the way we play.
