Southern Miss Cross Country Team Finishes Sixth At Crimson Classic

Senior Naomi Kiprotich was the top finisher for the Golden Eagles, finishing 11th overall with a time of 18:12.06 over the 5k course. Dijana Kojic finished 33 with a time of 19:22.86. Other Golden Eagle runners included Brittany Wood (40) with a time of 19:48.79, Ronna Sandoval (45) with a time of 19:59.19, Lila Balamane (46) with a time of 20:00.90, Emma DeLira (53) with a time of 20:25.04, Karen Tankersley (60) with a time of 20:44.92.
Rounding out the remaining runners were Alisha Edwards who ran a 20:46.20 and Alexis Fonte who posted a time of 22:26.24.
Samford won the team championship, placing three runners in the top 10, with 45 points followed by Lamar with 63 points, Alabama had 77, Mississippi State 91, Kennesaw State 100, Southern Miss 175, North Alabama 233, Rhodes 241, Jacksonville State 254, Ole Miss 258, Arkansas State 332, Alabama State 376, Bevill State 378 and West Alabama 448.
