Bower Pleased With McNeese State Preparations

HATTIESBURG, Miss.? Southern Miss continued preparations for Saturday?s McNeese State game today, with an hour and a half practice at M.M. Roberts Stadium.

Head Coach Jeff Bower said the team has had a good week of preparation.

?We had a good practice today,? Bower said. ?We had a pretty good week of practice.?

Bower said the team is looking forward to playing at home.

?We?re looking forward to playing in front of the fans,? Bower said. ?We?re ready to go.?

Following practice, Bower said the junior Caleb Hendrix (hamstring) will not play in Saturday?s game.

?We?re in good shape injury wise,? Bower said. ?Everyone is healthy and that is good to see, especially considering where we are in the season.?

Fans attending Saturday?s football game are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance and arrive early to campus on Saturday. Due to Hurricane Katrina, the City of Hattiesburg currently has an inflated population which has increased traffic. In addition, not all of the roads on or around campus have been cleared from debris and not all of the traffic lights on Hardy Street are operational. 

This may cause some traffic congestion for fans entering campus on Saturday. Fans are encouraged to use the Hardy St./29^th Ave. and the 4^th St./Sunset Dr. entrances. All Eagle Club priority parking lots will be open and the normal campus entrances for those lots should be utilized.

Any football season ticket holder who has misplaced tickets during Hurricane Katrina can have tickets reprinted at the Pat Ferlise Center. Please call the ticket office at 800-844-TICK (8425) by Friday at 3 p.m., to have your tickets reprinted. Reprinted tickets will be left in will call located at the Pat Ferlise Center until 1 p.m., on game day. At 1 p.m., the will call will be moved to the stadium box office located in the south end zone of M.M. Roberts Stadium. The stadium box office will open at 2 p.m., on game day and remain open through half time of the Southern Miss-McNeese State football game.

Any Eagle Club members who have lost parking passes in Hurricane Katrina can have them reproduced at the Pat Ferlise Center effective immediately.  Additionally, the Eagle Club office will be open game day from 10 a.m. ? 4 p.m. and parking passes can be replaced. Southern Miss (0-1) host McNeese State (1-0) in a 6 p.m., contest on Saturday.
