August 19, 2005: Week One, Second Diary Entry ? On being twin brothers and about the top plays of the first week of two-a-days:
Trevis ? If anyone has ever wondered who?s older between me and my brother, I?m the oldest by 11 minutes.
Kevis ? I don?t see him being much older with the 11 minutes, because we?re almost exactly the same. When people are looking at us and trying to tell us apart, they say that I?m a little wider than Trevis. You have to look at us real close, but people say that I?m just a little bit bigger than he is.
Trevis ? He?s about 10 pounds heavier than I am, and a lot of people say that Kevis? head is bigger than mine and that?s how they can tell the difference between us. But when you?re far off, distance-wise, you can?t tell the difference. If we were to ever change uniforms and positions, people wouldn?t notice that it was me playing linebacker if I took his pants and jersey and wore his neck brace. If we switched our entire equipment for the whole year and played each other?s positions, we would fool everybody. They wouldn?t know the difference.
Kevis ? I think we could fool a lot of people. I don?t think that they would even know.
We both hit pretty hard at our positions, but I would say that I hit the hardest.
Trevis ? I wouldn?t say that! But he does make some pretty good hits.
Kevis - Growing up we played a lot of sports together. We played football, basketball and baseball. We played a lot of basketball.
Trevis ? But we never really competed against each other. We mainly worked together, pushing each other to do the right things. We had a little bit of competition between us, but not much.
Kevis - With the first week of two-a-day practices done, the hit of the week was by (defensive back) John Eubanks. He hit (wide receiver) Chris Rhoden yesterday, and it was a nice hit. As soon as Rhoden tried to run the field, Eubanks was right there and put him down.
Trevis ? I think it would be (defensive back) Marcus Anderson. He hit a running back out on a flat pass and laid him out.
Kevis ? The offensive play of the week was a nice screen play this morning. They had everybody fooled. We had a blitz called, but they got a lot of yards on the play.
Trevis ? I was thinking of the same play. They hit a screen play and there wasn?t anyone there to tackle him and he went for a touchdown. It was (quarterback) Dustin Almond throwing to (wide receiver) Chris Johnson.
Kevis ? The toughest running back to cover out of the backfield on this team is Cody Hull. He runs hard and is one of the toughest runners that we have on the team. As far as tight ends, Shawn Nelson is the toughest. I don?t think he?s an ordinary tight end. He has good speed, good feet and is fast coming out of the tight end position.
Trevis ? To me, the toughest wide receiver to cover on this team is Antwon Courington. He?s quick and swift and is tough to cover.
