Football Continues Preseason Practice, Saturday's Scrimmage To Be Closed
? Preseason practice continued this morning, as the Golden Eagle football team spilt a two-hour practice between the Joe P. Park practice facility, before ending at M.M. Roberts Stadium.
Following the practice, Head Coach Jeff Bower said he liked what he saw from the offense.
?I think we had a very good day offensively,? Bower. ?They really picked it up and made some improvement. The plays were a lot cleaner and the execution was much better. We threw and caught the ball very well.?
It was another day of high heat at practice, but Bower is glad that the heat has been a constant factor.
?It?s real good to have,? Bower said. ?If your first hot day is game day, that?s not good. You?ve got to be acclimated to it and the only way to do it is practice in the heat of the day. We can?t get enough of this heat, especially in the 2-1-2 practice schedule.?
The team returns to the practice field on Friday, for its third two-a-day practice. On Saturday, the team will hold a closed scrimmage.
Following the closed scrimmage, fans will have an opportunity to meet the Golden Eagle players and coaches, during ?Meet the Eagles.? Bower and the team will be available to sign autographs and take pictures from 5 p.m. ? 6 p.m., at M. M. Roberts Stadium.
This event is free of charge. Fans are asked to enter the stadium through Gate 8 or Gate 6 (north east & south east corners of M.M. Roberts Stadium).
