HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss football team wrapped up preparations for Tuesday's 6:30 p.m., nationally televised game with Marshall today, with a two-hour practice in M.M. Roberts Stadium.
To prepare for Tuesday's game, the team practiced Monday, took Tuesday and Wednesday off, before resuming regular game week preparations on Thursday.
"We finished up strong," Head Coach Jeff Bower said. "We plan to go play well."
Bower said sophomore wide receiver Tavarres Williams is "doing better and has picked it up the past few days."
Tuesday's game marks the first meeting between Southern Miss (4-3 overall, 3-1 in Conference USA) and Marshall (4-4, 3-2), as the Thundering Herd is one of six new teams to join Conference USA this season.
