Football Continues UAB Preparations

HATTIESBURG, Miss.? The Southern Miss football team continued preparations for UAB today, with a two hour practice at the Joe P. Park Practice Facility.

The team faces a short practice week this week, due to Friday?s nationally televised ESPN contest against the Blazers. The team will have their normal practice routine Tuesday and Wednesday, before departing for Birmingham on Thursday.

?We?re in our regular routine for game week,? Southern Miss Head Coach Jeff Bower said. ?The only thing we missed was the day off, but we?ll be fine.?

Following practice today, Bower announced the senior wide receiver Antwon Courington will miss the remainder of the season due to a torn ACL and torn meniscus. Courington will have surgery on Oct. 26.

Game time for Friday is set for 7 p.m.
