UCF Postgame Quotes
UCF Head Coach George O?Leary
On UCF turnovers:
?We gave up about 31 points on turnovers, and that?s a lot. They had
opportunities and took advantage of them. I though special teams was disappointing from the stand point of giving up big plays and then turning it over, and you can?t do that. We came in at halftime and said ?let?s regroup?. The big thing we?re doing is killing ourselves right now.?
?But give credit to Southern Miss. They came out and executed when they had to execute.?
On being tied in the conference standings:
?I don?t worry about any other clubs except the next one we have to play, Tulane. As a total our team is a good football team. I don?t think we gave it our best, but I think the big thing was they took advantage of the opportunities they had and we didn?t.?
On UCF having a better second half:
?A loss is a loss. There?s nothing nice about a loss except to go back and work harder and get it corrected. I can find out more about the kids in the second half than I can in the first half. I can look at the second half and see what I can do as far as getting it corrected and move from there.?
?I told the players that it?s a conference game, and that?s why you play eight of them. So let?s see what we can do with the next one.?

Doing that, sooner or later the offense for the other team is going to score. We shot ourselves in the foot today with every opportunity we had. We have to secure the ball; I can?t throw interceptions; we can?t fumble the ball and we have to play good special teams.
That?s what we didn?t do today, and it didn?t work out. We didn?t execute today. In the games that we?ve won this season, we?ve executed. If you don?t execute, you?re not going to win. Today we lost because we turned the ball over and we didn?t execute.?
LB James Cook
On being on the field a lot:
?We were in a lot of bad positions on our own 20 and 16 yard lines due to turnovers. We tried to fight and hold them to field goals. But we had some breakdowns on defense and they executed and scored touchdowns because of it.?
On QB Dustin Almond:
?Dustin and I go back to high school. His school was my high school rival when I used to play quarterback at
